Early Life and Education

Simon Edward Minter, widely recognized by his online alias "Miniminter," was born on September 7, 1992, in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England. Growing up in a family with two brothers, Nick and Johnny, Simon developed an early interest in sports and gaming. He attended Berkhamsted School, a private institution, where he first met Olajide "KSI" Olatunji. Initially, the two did not get along, but over time, they became close friends. Simon briefly pursued criminology at the University of Hull but decided to leave his studies to focus on his burgeoning YouTube career. 

Career Beginnings and YouTube Success

Simon's journey into the digital world began in 2008 when he created his YouTube channel, Miniminter. However, it wasn't until 2012 that he uploaded his first video. His content initially centered around FIFA gameplay, which resonated with a wide audience. In 2013, Simon co-founded the Sidemen, a group of British YouTubers known for their collaborative content, including challenges, gaming videos, and vlogs. The Sidemen quickly gained popularity, and Simon's channel experienced significant growth. As of January 2025, Miniminter's main channel boasts over 10.4 million subscribers and has accumulated over 4.1 billion views.

Business Ventures and Other Projects

Beyond YouTube, Simon has ventured into various business endeavors. He is a co-owner of Sidemen Clothing, a merchandise line launched by the Sidemen in 2014. In November 2021, the group expanded into the food industry with the launch of Sides, a restaurant chain. The following year, they introduced XIX Vodka, an alcoholic beverage brand, and in 2024, they launched Best Cereal, a breakfast cereal brand. Additionally, Simon co-founded M7 Education, a non-profit organization aimed at providing students with visual learning experiences through field trips. 

Personal Life

Simon is in a relationship with singer and internet personality Talia Mar. The couple announced their engagement in June 2022 and married on June 3, 2023. In January 2025, they revealed they were expecting their first child together.

Philanthropy and Charity Work

Throughout his career, Simon has been involved in various charitable activities. In October 2019, he donated $10,010 to Team Trees, a project organized by MrBeast and Mark Rober to plant trees. He also participated in the Sidemen Charity Match, a recurring event organized by the Sidemen to raise money for various British charities. The event has been held on six occasions since 2016 and has raised over £8.5 million for various causes.
